It's not a birthday. It's not Christmas or any other kind of occasion.
Who needs a reason for a party? Not us.
The school holidays and a bunch of bored kids is reason enough.
Drag out the face paint and the dressups, blow up some balloons and set up the traffic cones.
Open the doors and windows, put on some party music.
Send out a facebook invite to any and all who are bored or at a loose end.
Tell them to come over at 10am on Thursday and bring party food and ride-ons.
Dig out the sweets left over from the last birthday.
Make chocolate crackle cos it's so quick'n'easy.

Spread out a checkered mat to eat on. Put all the food on the outdoor table.
Let everyone dig in and help themselves to all the party treats.
Use disposable everything so there's no washing up.

Paint faces. Turn your friend into Darth Maul by accident.
Rock and bounce. Jump and wrestle. Have lightsaber fights.
Dress up in a salsa dress and let the little kids chase you.
Blow lots of bubbles.
A party for no reason. It sure is lots of fun.
Chocolate Crackle
250g vegetable shortening (e.g. Kremelta)
1 cup icing (confectioners) sugar
1 cup dessicated coconut
1/4 cup cocoa powder
Put the vegetable shortening in a microwave safe bowl and melt in the microwave (or slowly in a pot on the stovetop).
Mix in rice bubbles. Stir until well coated with liquid mixture.
Spoon into muffin pans lined with cupcake papers.Refrigerate until set. Then serve to party-mad kids and watch them disappear. (makes 48 mini or 24 full-sized crackle cakes).
It Does look like so much fun!
